El Nido, Palawan in the Philippines is “heaven on earth” if there ever was … non-stop, laid back, eco fun! … I will be making many post from the trip I made … “rss” to stay up to date … this is from a “highly recommended” motor bike ride you can take for the day … approximately 80 km and much to do along the way …
You rent your bike from the Pit Stop run by a French fella by the name of Arnold (very nice fella)… it will cost you about 1,000 Peso for the day … I recommend leaving early (0800) so that you can take the whole of the day in making the trip … you do not want to be in a rush … the terrain is a combination of open gravel (small and large rocks) to mountainous … pack up some water and food for once you leave the fishing village at Calitang / Nacpan beaches … the towns are far and few in between …
On the way you have five (5) beaches you can stop at, though these are only accesable off the main road … you have two (2) waterfalls, a Hot Spring and the Ille Cave excavation site … “history books are being heavily edited from this cave excavation” …
(#i) - Islands within View on the Trip … (#a) - Activities you can do while on the Trip
MAP NOTES: Drag Cursor on Map to Pan (some points may be hidden out of view) … Mouse over Map Points for more Information … If there is a (red color) circle with a numerical value inside, this means there are “stacked” Map Points, select and the “stacked map points” will be revealed … select Aerial for a Satellite View and Hybrid for Road View superimposed onto a Satellite View …
And then to top the trip off, towards the end, you will take a detour to get to the small village of New Ibajay where you can grab an early dinner at Mac Mac’s … a professional Chef from Austria has opened an amazing restaurant … amazing that it is even there and more amazing that he will serve you up a 5 Star Meal at a give-a-way price … I had Jack Fish Fillet, fresh from the market that morning … AMAZING! … also while in New Ibajay, you can visit Ille Cave Excavation and then have a look at the Solar Power Generation Station just across the street from Mac Mac’s … talking about going green, this small village in the middle of no where has taken a serious “chunk” out of their “carbon foot print” … AMAZING! …
ENJOY!
