Travel Challenge

Okay, here’s the deal (yes, I’m going to make you wait before I open the ‘envelope’) – I had a very nice Sunday here in Sri Lanka yesterday. I slept in, ate, read, slept some more, read more, slept some more…you get the idea. I touched the computer for about 5 minutes, only to check on TPN. I did NO work!

How does this relate to YOU? Well, I’ve had my morning java, and I figure how hard can it be to choose the first selection TC? Well, damn you all! You messed up my tranquil state of mind because choosing the Weekly Pick for TC is not easy – picking up my car and putting it over my head, with one hand, would be easier!

I made a list of my top choices and quite a few of you were on it. In the end I boiled it down to my top three: Not Just another Day at the Beach,Come and GoGreat Ocean Road. Sarah, I almost said, “To hell with the missing feet.” But then in the end, I decided I needed the feet.

The problem with choosing between Winnie Ho’s photograph and Mark Jones’s photograph is the drama between the two. Winnie’s is a more dramatic backdrop and so one is definitely drawn to that, but both are technically excellent. I can’t say that one is better than the other. So, I must call it a TIE between Come and Go, by photographer Mark Jones and The Great Ocean Road, by photographer Winnie Ho.

The initial list included: Summer at the Ocean (with or without the hairy legs!), Kayaking Nova ScotiaHeads and Ceilings in BudapestOld Harbor in Chania. So, well done to all of you! Can you hear my hands clapping?
